Post Holiday Run!

So, after a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving dinner, including a deep fried turkey, which I'd never had before, and was the BEST, I had the opportunity to run Big Creek Trail on Friday! According to the website: "The concrete trail is approximately 8 miles and meanders along Big Creek parallel to North Point Parkway, from Windward Parkway at Marconi Drive on the north end to Mansell Road on the south end. A soft mulch trail encircles a large wetland between Haynes Bridge Road and Mansell Road. Wildlife such as blue heron, deer, ducks and Canada geese can be observed in this preserved water setting." I didn't see any wildlife, unfortunately, but plenty of runners, joggers, strollers, and cyclists! A great way to cap off the holiday!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm heading to some friends' for the holiday, and just wanted to say 'Thanks' to everyone who visits this blog regularly (or just happened by)! Hope you have a fun, safe, and healthy Thanksgiving!

Hilfiger Holiday!

Tommy Hilfiger continues a successful campaign wherein a slew of models portray the 'Hilfigers' as a fashionable and wealthy family, just like yours, featuring Noah Mills, Sam Way,and Max Rogers among the cast. Here's the holiday video:

Bunker Mentality!

DC Comics' Teen Titans #3 introduces the much-touted first ever out gay Teen Titan, Mexican Miguel Jose Barragan, who uses the odd superhero name 'Bunker'. In the story, he hops a freight train, after an altercation with the police seen in background news video in issue #1, and runs into a disguised Tim(Red Robin)Drake:
Tim is traveling with a girl he rescued last issue from the ridiculously named N.O.W.H.E.R.E., the shady organization currently the big bad in writer Scott Lobdell's Superboy and Teen Titans books. He thinks Miguel might be working for them.
Instead of the usual misunderstang-fueled superhero smackdown, though, Tim finds that Miguel's a fan:
And ready to join the 'team':
The boys are interrupted by brainwashed civilians, which leads to Tim going after the source of the mind control, and leaving Miguel to handle the crowd:
which he does, albeit in a slightly untrained manner:
Tim returns, having been affected by the bad guy's powers, but with the threat ended, for now.
Next issue promises to bring together the potential team members in conflict with Superboy. I like Miguel. He's got a great attitude, and a sense of fun. Being both gay and a Mexican national, I suspect when they run out of N.O.W.H.E.R.E. storyline, we'll get something equating the DCnU's treatment of aliens with real world treatment of illegal immigration, but until then it should be an enjoyable read. Aquaman #3!

Last issue Aquaman and Mera were fighting the Trench as we left them, and in issue #3 of Aquaman, by Geoff Johns and Ivan Reis, the battle continues, until an abrupt retreat by the ravenous beings, leaving something behind:
And Aquaman has an idea where to take it:
The Doctor is only too happy to 'help out':
We can only assume Shin will be trouble in the future, but for now:
Well, Arthur, understanding them really depends upon one's position on the food chain, but maybe that's just me thinking about Thanksgiving dinner. Until next month!

This would be your 'update', though I'm not sure it's the sort of update you're used to.
